Welcome to the Detroit Institute of Techno

In our library of music you'll find techno mixes selected for freshness, relevance, and overall high-quality. Although Detroit is the birthplace of techno all styles of techno are featured here: Detroit, minimal, electro, tech house, and all electronic dance music derived from and influenced by Detroit techno.

This is a user-driven site. You are encouraged to vote for sets you like, fill in play lists, post links to DJ sets you find, and discuss the music. Find the latest posted sets in the Unpublished section waiting for you to vote them up.

Sets are sorted by date and popularity and it's up to you to vote for ones you like.

As a user new sets/stories you post will go to the unpublished stories page until enough people vote for it to go to the main page.

We encourage you to publish stories that link as directly as possible to the music and to explain why the set is relevant to the ongoing story of techno. We will try not to send readers to files hosted on cheesy time delay upload sites and we encourage you to do the same.

Monoblock - Ibiza Voice Podcast

Monoblock, aka Martin TC & Guikle, have managed to get into the record bags of minimal tastemakers from Richie Hawtin and the M_nus crew to Marco Carola, even Josh Wink, and rightfully so. Originally from Montevideo, Uruguay the pair moved to Valencia, Spain and quickly took advantage of the minimal scenes in Spanish cities. Find their dubby groovy minimal releases on Archipel, Immigrant, Freak & Chic and the netlabel Ouzo. You can download their track on a compilation album released in June on Ouzo called Similitudes in RAR format. Their track is Monoblock / Dumbo (remix invisible beat). "Dumbo (beat invisible remix) is dark and melodic techno with tango influences and an infectious groove."
