Tomo- I know you've got your hands full for sure. I'm here pretty often as well. Like Dany@ said, temporary delete privileges would probably take some of the load off your back for the moment until you get a permanent fix going. It might be easier to add a minus vote to the system. Once a post breaks a certain threshold then it automatically gets deleted. That might be too easy to compromise though. Food for thought.
